DWS April Newsletter

Juried Show at the Biggs
Are you ready?  Drop-off of your original work is on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The member entry fee is $30 for two works and $35 for non-members.  The fees will not be split, so take advantage of the opportunity and enter two pieces.  Cash or checks made payable to DWS will be collected at the entry desk.
If you are unsure about requirements and eligibility of your artwork, please review the prospectus online at www.delawarewatercolorsociety.org.
Kass Morin Freeman, our juror and awards, is fair and insightful and has consistently provided excellent feedback on our show.  We look forward to having her give us her opinions.  More importantly, we look forward to having beautiful art on display.  Having your work juried into a museum show is always a great addition to your resume.

Juried Show at Nassau Valley Vineyards
Our summer show will be at Nassau in July.  The prospectus and schedule will be available in the next couple of weeks.  Keep painting.  This is always a lovely show with several awards and the added attraction of great wine.

April 16th Workshop
Our April 16 workshop will be re-scheduled for sometime in August or September.  We tried to keep the registration fee as low as possible but with only nine registrations, we wouldn’t have been able to cover our costs.   We encourage everyone to participate in DWS events so that we can continue to offer workshops, shows, and other events.  We need participation and support to be a viable, active society.
If you have suggestions for workshop topics, or would like to volunteer to present a workshop, please contact Don Blow at artisto1@comcast.net.  If you submit your idea or program now, it will be discussed at our May board meeting.

June 18 – Annual Meeting and Luncheon

Mark your calendars for the DWS annual meeting, Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Glade Clubhouse, 16 Farm Glade Drive, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.   This year we will be asking for a $10 donation to cover the luncheon.

At the meeting, conduct regular business, have an art presentation and elect new Board members to fill some vacancies on the Board of Directors.  Notices and position descriptions will be sent out in May.  If you are interested in joining the Board and becoming a decision maker in the organization, please let Anne Cyr know.  We are always looking for new people to share their expertise and ideas.  We would love to hear from you.  Anne can be reached at (302) 226-7781.
